On a regular basis, I worked closely with many of their correspondents and anchors on the latest social media tools. I worked within the NBC News Marketing team to coordinate social projects and events.
Photography is my passion and I use my knowledge to provide original content for our social media accounts. My philosophy about photos posted on Twitter and Facebook is that they should be high quality. Many in our industry are tied to Blackberry phones which are known for their poor quality photos and video. Many of the photos I posted to the NBC News Instagram account were taken with an iPhone or a DSLR.
I am known for producing high quality, real-time images through social properties and then creating albums for Facebook, Google+, Flickr and IMGUR post event. I have built up an enormous library of photos that can be used for banner images and website content. I am addicted to updating my Facebook and Google+ cover photos to be current with weather occurrences or news events. One of the many things I managed at NBC News was keeping the Facebook cover photo current with news events with original photography from the NBC News team. I worked closely with producers, camera operators and correspondents in the field to help take great images while out in the field and send them back to the newsroom for social content and real-time reporting.
While at NBC News, I developed strong relationships with third party companies that helped make our social projects successful. I worked closely with Mass Relevance to power many visualizations that displayed real-time posts from Twitter and Facebook that we used for broadcast and digital properties.
Before I came to NBC News, I ran my own production company working on remote production events like ESPN’s Winter X-Games, the New York City Marathon and Super Bowl 41. On top of working as freelance camera operator I also freelanced as a Chyron/Deko operator for ESPN and CNBC.
